Earthy aromas of ripe black cherry, porcini mushroom, menthol, and game slowly make their way to the forefront. The aromas carry over to hints of tobacco while buffed tannins provide smooth support.
The Barbera grapes ferment for 12 days in oak vats, at a temperature between 27 and 30 degrees; then are aged first for a year in small oak barrels, and then for another 15 months in glass. A truly special wine.
